Speed MentoringSpeed Mentoring Program
Back by popular demand! Speed Mentoring will be part of the program to 3 by the Sea conference attendees!
Have you been thinking about how to better position yourself for upward mobility? Want to achieve longer term goals? Looking for promotion advice? Want to impress your administrator? Applying for a better job, but are uncertain of how to showcase your skills and experience? If so, the MAC Professional Development Committee's Speed Mentoring Program may be just right for you! This annual meeting program will consist of "speed mentoring" sessions for pre-registered participants.
Wikipedia defines 'speed dating' as "an event where men and women are rotated to meet each other over a series of short "dates..." We may not be able to help with your love life, but we can provide pointers on career strategy. Registrants will have the opportunity to meet individually for "speed mentoring" sessions with one or more senior managers with hiring experience in health sciences libraries. These sessions might include job-hunting advice, evaluation of your resume or just career guidance. The number of sessions per person will depend on the number of registrants and available mentors.
If you are interested in being a speed mentoring participant, mentor OR mentee, please e-mail Meredith Solomon, msolomon@hshsl.umaryland.edu with your contact information and whether would like to be a mentor OR mentee. Pre-registration information will be sent prior to the conference.
This project has been funded in whole or in part with Federal funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, under Contract No. N01-LM-6-3502 under the University of Maryland, Baltimore. |
